Givenchy’s Campaign with Donatella Versace. The social media applaude.

ivenchy revealed back in April that none other than Donatella Versace would star in the French house’s fall campaign, teasing a black-and-white shot of Versace with creative director Riccardo Tisci on Instagram. Now the entire campaign is here, and there’s a lot to take in.

First, Donatella. Just like Julia Roberts did in the house’s last campaign, also shot in black and white by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the designer looks strong and timeless in two tailored jackets with her hair tucked under the collars. Of the surprising casting choice, Versace told Alina Cho that Tisci convinced her by telling her she had been his inspiration for many years. “In fashion you have to break rules,” she observed.

The unusual choice of DV as a model turned to be a win-win operation for both brands.
